Scrap Our Stash - Mixed Alphas and a Sketch

Good morning!  I'm here with my take on the new challenge at Scrap Our Stash

We were challenged to use Mixed Alphas for our titles on our projects.

And there is also a sketch to go with this challenge.

Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

I use some old alpha stickers for the first part of my title.
For the rest of the title, I used DIY Thickers.  I was able to verrryyy carefully add 2 different colors of glitter to my letters.
I dug WAY deep into the stash for these papers from DCWV.  The accordian flowers are from K&Company..no idea how long they have been around, but so glad I finally used them.

Check out what the SOS DT created with the sketch.
There is lots of inspiration on using mixed alphas!
Be sure to stop by!

Have a great day!

ALL BOY

LOVE the March 15th Challenge from About a Boy!
The challenge was to use your scraps. ...and I have LOTS of them.  I guess you can say I am a bit of a scrap hoarder.  I'm always so sure that I will eventually need that one little piece of paper.

Here is what I put together using bits and pieces of a mini kit from Echo Park:

I also fussy cut the arrows from some scraps.
The stars are felt pieces from the stash.

Here is the sketch from Creative Scrappers that I used:

Getting dark...time to figure out what's for dinner!

Have a great evening!!!

Ready for BASEBALL!

I am a HUGE baseball fan and I am so anxious to get this season started!!

GO WHITE SOX!!!

Here is page to get me started:

This was inspired by the challenge at About A Boy.
We were to use some of our stash that is at least a year old.
Not a problem!
I have had tons of stuff sitting around forever.
I was able to use a cluster of baseball stickers, some felt stars and some star ribbon.
The baseball print paper is from Fancy Pants.
The title is a chipboard piece from Want2Scrap.
I used a white paint dauber and outlined the whole piece in red marker.

Counting down the days till baseball!!

Have a great day!!!

Sweet Smiles

I'm on a roll today!
Laundry is almost done and I finished up a Summer page!

I love this color combo!  It's so fun!
I used a couple of different styles of ribbon from the stash.
Added a few buttons, and Thickers letters that I covered in black glitter.
I thought I had more watermelon embellishments, but couldn't find them.
While I was digging around, I found these foam lady bugs and thought they were too cute not to use.

This was for the sketch challenge at Artfull Crafts.
Here is the original sketch:

Now all I have to do is finish the last load of laundry and finish up a Spring page!

Have a great day!!!

Autumn Blessings

I think I'm creating a new goal for me today...let's see if I can create a layout for all 4 seasons!

I've already completed a page for Winter....here is a page for Autumn:

Again, I used up some older stash.  These stickers are from a long time ago.  I just knew they would come in handy one day.
The felt pieces I bought on clearance because they were just too cute to pass up.  Now they look even cuter on a page.
And while I was digging around, I found a few paper leaves that I was able to add.

The inspiration for this page came from the March challenge at Artfull Crafts.
I just found this site and they offer a few different challenges each month.
So far, so fun!

Have a great day!!

Snow Cute

I have to be honest...the only good thing about laundry day, is once the machines are running, I have a bit of time to scrap.

Here is a fun snow page:

This was for a sketch + color combo challenge from Sketches with Color
Here is the color palette:

And here is the sketch:

It was fun to create this page, but I will be sooo glad when all this snow and cold is gone!!

Have a great day!!!

Lots of Luck - SWC DT call

Top o' the Morning to all!!

Sticking with today's theme of St. Patrick's Day, I complete another GREEN layout:

I am in love with these big gold sequins!
In addition to them, I used up some foam stickers, fun holiday ribbon, Stickles and felt stickers.  And all of the papers are from the box of scraps.  Use it !!!!

Hoping to get LUCKY, this is my submission for the Sketches With Color Design Team call
Here is the sketch we were to use:

Wish me luck!!

Have a great day!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Good morning!!

What better way to start off the day than with a St. Patrick's Day layout!

I painstakingly added each piece of bling to this page.
The Pot was handout from an image I found online.
The "gold" are big sequins I found last night!

And here is the sketch from Inspired Blueprints:

Have a great day!!!

More of the Beach

Here is my attempt at two different challenges:

Here is the sketch challenge from Kerys:

And here is the color combo challenge from Rochelle Spears:

Again, I attacked the older stash to put this together.  The squares with the seashell images are from Creative Imaginations...from a looong time ago.
The "mesh" piece behind the photos is actually a sticker that has been collection dust.  I love how it looks like mesh but it's just all sticker.  I am so glad to finally use it!
The trim is new from the Paper Secrets store.
And then the best part...buttons!!

Have a great day!!!

Color Me Scrappy #34- DT Reveal

Good Morning!!

It's time for another beautiful color palette challenge from Color Me Scrappy!
And don't forget, there is always another little twist to the challange...this time it's to use A TAG and/or STITCHING.

Here is what I created:

We have a little nature preserve near our house with these beautiful waterfalls.  I try to go there a gazillion times a year for photos.  Every trip we discover something new.  This year, it was these really pretty pink flowers in bloom, right near the water.
I used an Echo Park collection for this page and some flowers and leaves from the stash.
For my stitching, I used a We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy tool.  It's a little roller stamp that can create many different stitching designs.  It's one of my new favorite tools!

Here is this week's color palette:

Aren't these colors so rich and gorgeous??

Stop by the Color Me Scrappy blog to see what the DT created!!
You won't be disappointed!!!

Have a great day!!!!

Kraft it Up!!

Welcome to another fun challenge from Scrap Our Stash!

This week are "Kraftin'" things up.  The challenge is to use at least 50% kraft paper somewhere on your project...and for an ADDED challenge, you have to use 3 metal embellishments.

Here is what I came up with:

I used kraft paper as my background.  I "roughed it up" a bit with a green paint dauber. These papers are from the Paradise collection from Little Yellow Bicycle.  The stitched banners are so fun to play with.
Around my circle die cut, I played with some new pom pom trim.
And for my metal pieces, I found these little tropical pieces in the stash, and a small title.

I hope you will join us for this challenge!
We would love to see how you use kraft!
Stop by the blog to see what the SOS DT came up with!

Have a great day!!!

Relaxing on the Beach

While I look out my window at a foot of snow,  I thought of working on something that would brighten my day.

I love going to the beach and just sitting back watching the waves.

I started out by misting the background paper with 3 different colors.  I just wanted a subtle touch of color.  The S.W.A.T. Basic Training this week was to use misting.  So glad I stocked up on some new colors!
I added some pieces of trim that I just got in the mail.
The chipboard pieces are from K&Company.
The canvas banner was from Prima.  I inked the edges just a little bit, threaded them together with some twine and added some tiny pearls.

The sketch I used is from Paper Stories.  I love that I had to cut my picture into segments.  I don't usually like doing this, but for this picture, it was a perfect technique to try.

Have a great day!!!

Let's Get Sketchy - Siblings

Good morning!

I was finally able to put together a page using the color combo and sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!!

Here is the sketch:

And here is the color combo:

I really tried to stay away from a Christmas page.  But that ornament sure made it hard...lol.
I didn't use any Christmas papers or embellishments.  I used a paper stack from K&Company and fussy cut some of the flowers from the patterned papers.  The leaves were cut off of a piece of leaf ribbon I just got from Really Reasonable Ribbon...Love it!!!

Time to clean off the desk!

Have a great day!!!

Good Morning!!!

Good Morning!

I finally finished this page that I have been working on all week.  I thought I all I needed to do was add a title.  Then while I was searching around, I found these pretty little butterflies that were just the right color.

I also used up some older paper flowers underneath the Prima flowers and some fuzzy ribbon that's been around forever.
I'm starting to feel like I'm finally making a dent in the old stash!

Here is the sketch from Sketch N Scrap that I used:

Have a great day!!!

More Happy News!!

I am so excited to announce that I have been accepted to be part of the Design Team at Nuts About Sketches!!

This blog is a Sketch- a-holic's dream!  So many sketches, so much inspiration!  I am so happy to be part of it all!

Here are the two sketches we were required to use for our Design Team application:

Sketch #1:

I wanted to be as creative as possible for this sketch.
I did a little bit of fussy cutting on this gorgeous Bo Bunny paper.  After  I matted my photos, I used my eyelet setter to punch some holes down the sides of the pictures.  Then I carefully laced some shiny raffia DOWN the pictures.  As I looked at the page, I realized that skates lace UP.  Sooo....I took it all apart and relaced it...lol!! Can you tell I wanted to put forth my best effort for this application?!

For the 2nd sketch (we were only required to do one)

I decided to stick with the Winter theme (since everything was scattered all over my desk anyway)
More Bo Bunny papers and this awesome flocked piece from a kit.  All of the chipboard flakes are from Bo Bunny also.  I added some random pearls all over the page for some extra snowflakes.

So there you have it...my application submissions!
And I am so happy that the Team at Nuts About Sketches loved them also!
I am so happy and excited to be part of this team and I look forward to continuing putting forth my best efforts!

Don't forget to stop by the NAS blog and see who else made the team and see what they created.
So much talent, so much inspiration!!
And join us in using our sketches!
We would love to see what you create!

Have a great day!!!

Here is the color palette:

Does this scream Spring or what??

And then there was the awesome sketch:

Sunbursts always were difficult for me...

But here is what I created:

I tried to be a little creative and use these leftover stems from other flowers to create my sunburst.
And these Petaloo flowers are so pretty.  I thought everything worked so well with these pictures from our last trip to the Arboretum.

You must stop by the Color Me Scrappy blog and see what the DT came up with!
So many awesome interpretations!
You will not be disappointed!

Wet and Wild

Well, after a day of snow, snow and a bit more snow....the boss finally let us go home early!
Getting home wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Sooo.....when I got home, the kiddies jumped in the car, we raced to the sledding hill, I took tons of pictures, raced back home and I completed a page!
But of course, the page had nothing to do with today's weather...lol.
But it was for a challenge at Sketches with a  Twist:

I used quite a bit of washi tape for the added twist.
The original challenge was to use this sketch:

I also added some fun see through buttons in blue and some page pebbles.

Off to print out some fun snow pictures!

Have a great night!!

Last Day of School!!

Hi again!

Here is a page with a couple of fun photos from the last day of school party:

I had all these scraps in the drawer holding my school goodies.  I also found a long lost book of vellum quotes!  YAY!!
The sub title is made from a newer set of Thickers I found.
This goes with the challenge from Show Us Your Stuff, which was to use "excite", or "excited" on your page.  :)

The sketch I used is from Paper Secrets.  The twist for this sketch was to use Thickers.

Have a great day!!!

My Lil' Guy

I am so in love with these little gears!

There is a great mix of gears here.  I used lots of metal pieces, a felt die cut and a decorative pin with a gear.

Here is the sketch I used from The Boys Rule blog:

Have a great day!!!

Twice as Nice

What to do with all those extra little pictures leftover from the school picture packs...
I've started adding multiples of them on some pages...why not??

And here is the lovely color palette #32 from Color Me Scrappy:

I cannot wait till Spring!!

Have a great day!!!
