Old Man Winter

We love going to the zoo in the winter time.  It's quiet, it's fun, it's the best time to watch the animals play...especially the polar bears.   :)

Here are my daughter and niece playing on one of the lion statues.

I don't know why, but when I was trying to think of a title, I kept looking at this guy's face and "Old Man Winter" kept coming to mind...lol.

I used Stickles all over the background...but little dabs.  I love "snow" effect it has.

And here is the sketch I used from Stuck?! Sketches:

Have a great evening!!

Winter Ice

Hey there!  It's Wednesday and I'm finally able to post a page I did over the weekend.

I love these papers from Bo Bunny!  The colors, the glitter, the designs...soooo pretty!
I did some fussy cutting on the papers and used some pop dots.  Behind the photo is a square doily.  And the pictures are surrounded by some sheer ribbon.  I also added some metal accents to the centers of the snowflakes.

I used another great sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

Off to watch some lousy reality tv...have a great night!

Innocence

These are some of my favorite pictures of my daughter's baby photo shoot:

I love that she look so innocent.  She was actually terrified and had no idea what was going on.  She had been through these photo shoots many times before, but each time, she was a little bit more nervous.
I used some papers from Colorbok and did some fussy cutting on the flowers.  Then I added some smaller roses and some different trims.

I used a sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

She is now 11 years old and I'm still working on baby pictures....sigh....lol

Have a great Sunday!!!

Snow Dogs

One of my favorite Winter trips to the zoo is FREEze Day.  This is when the zoo has free admission and they host many different Winter activities.  My favorite is watching the sled dogs.
These dogs are not only very strong and agile, they are BEAUTIFUL!  I love the ice blue eyes!

And they are more than happy to play with the kids and pose for pictures.

I played along with a sketch from Pamela's World of Scrap:

Great sketch and I love the giant banner!

I can't wait till these come back to visit this year!

Have a great Sunday!!

Snow Fun

Good Morning!  I'm finishing up some fun snow pictures today.

I'm loving the pink and purples that I have found in my Winter stash:

And I wish I could get a better picture.  But the sun is so bright today and is giving me a hard time.
Oh well, at least it's sunny out!

I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers:

And here are a couple more pictures of my daughter playing in the snow:

I used half of a giant snowflake die cut and some rub ons from Reminisce.  I love these cute little penguins stickers too!  Finally used them!!

Here is the sketch from Stuck on U Sketches:

Have a great Sunday!!

Bundled Up

And now that I have used some pictures from Fall and Summer, I thought I would play with some fun pictures from Winter:

I used an older sketch from Pink Paislee and some older goodies.  I ALMOST can't wait for some snow....just for more pictures.  :)

Have a great day!!

Hello Fall

Any excuse to break out some raffia and some corrugated!  I love using this stuff!

Some fun felt shapes and some Bo Bunny stickers compliment the raffia and corrugated pieces.  :)

My sketch inspiration came from My Creative Sketches:

Have a great day!

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

One can NEVER have enough pictures from a trip to the pumpkin patch!

Here are yet more of my kiddies having some fun!

A little creative outlining with a brown marker helped a bit.  :)

My inspiration came from this sketch from Sketchabilities:

Have a great day!!

Winter Sunrise

Have you ever noticed that Winter sunrises are just as pretty, if not prettier, than Summer sunrises?

I have some great pictures from our Winter trip to Wisconsin earlier this year.  Since I'm an early riser, this is my reward:

I used lots of the older stash from Heidi Grace.  Luckily, I had enough alphas!

This is the sketch from Stuck on U Sketches that inspired me.  I had to flip it to work for my pictures:

Have a great day!!

4th of July and Stars

Good morning!!

It's getting cold out, so I'm starting to want it to be Summer again.

Use Your Stuff challenge #61 was to use stars on your project.  Right away, I thought 4th of July!

I used a mini kit from Echo Park.  I put some of the stars and the fireworks stickers on pop dots and then went a little nuts with the Stickles.

I used Let's Capture These Sketches #159 for more inspiration:

Have a great day!!

Our Family Ties

Good Morning!  Another day off, another day of scrapping!

Here is a two-pager:

With lots of buttons, some fun trim and bits and pieces from My Mind's Eye.

And here is the sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

A Walk in the Park

More nature fun with the kids!

I used up more scraps of patterned papers and quite a few chipboard pieces from Basic Grey.

And here is the fun sketch I worked with from Paper Secrets:

Tree Hugger

I love that my kids are so in tune with nature.  No matter where we go, they always have a blast.  Their favorite part is finding the best tree to climb.  We always make sure it's the safest and that they don't climb too high.

Here is my Tree Hugging daughter:

And some more fun hexagon inspiration from Sketches in Thyme:

Off to take advantage of some Black Friday sales!  Must stock up on adhesive!

Have a great day!!

Horsin' Around

Don't you just love it when you can use up some scraps??

I used up some strips of burlap print paper from the scrap box:...

..a bunch of older stickers from Creative Imaginations, and bits and pieces from October Afternoon.
The banner is put together with a piece of jute, some tags stickers, and pewter brads.

Here is the original sketch for Week 3 from Let's Get Sketchy:

Have a great day!!

All Bundled Up

I just love building snowmen!  It's the only reason I love it when it snows.  I run outside with the kids, build a snowman, take tons of pictures and then I'm ready for Spring.

We try to change up his "costume" every year.  I haven't decided what this year's will be, but since we don't have any snow...yet....I have time to think about it....

This was last year's snowman:

He was so stinking cute!  I love that we recycle the kids costumes too!

My snowflakes were made from my Martha punch and I added some dew drops to the centers.  The papers and elements are all from Bo Bunny.  I love these colors!
And this is the color palette challenge from Color Me Scrappy:

Kinda close....I hate that my pictures always look different on the computer.

Oh well, ...have a great day!!!

Pumpkin Picking

Hello again!

Here again with yet another fun pumpkin page!

I was finally able to use this awesome title from Jolee's.  I bought it a while ago, and just never found just the right page to put it on.  I also went through the drawer and added some ribbon and a piece of fun orange trim.

This is for the challenge at Sketch with color.
Here is the sketch:

and here is the color:

And we had to use a Fall or Halloween theme.  So glad I have LOTS of pictures to work with!

Have a great day!!!

Make a New Friend..

Happy Black Friday!  God bless those who braved the crowds and made it out today!  I hope you got some good deals!

As for me, I'm staying home, safe and sound and scrapping alll day!  :)

Here is my little snow buddy from last year:

I was playing around yesterday with this collection from Bo Bunny and opened up a package of notes cards.  Out came all of these fun little hexagons shapes.  I was so happy to see them!  They were perfect for challenge #34 from Challenge Me Happy:

I used a snowflake punch to add a little bit more...

Isn't he adorable??

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Basic Grey and Stripes

Basic Grey is hosting a challenge to show your stripes.

I used my all time favorite collection from Basic Grey called Nordic Holiday.

I love these little snowmen!  I also used a snowflake punch to add to the little chipboard pieces.  Then I went a little Stickle crazy and added some white to the snowflakes, and the stripes.  I wish my picture would show that better.

Have a great Sunday!!!

Happy Sunday!!!

What a beautiful Fall day!  It's going to be almost 60 degrees here today!!

Before we head out to see the Nutcracker, I wanted to share last night's project.

I played along with Imaginisce's sketch challenge this month.  In addition to the sketch, we were to use 3 patterned papers and 3 embellishments.

I used a piece of burlap, some twine and I broke out the brad maker and added some punched pieces of patterned paper to the tops.

Here is the original sketch:

Have a great Sunday!!!

Always Smiling

Good Morning!  Happy Saturday!!
We had an outing today at the zoo.  It was Community Tree Decoration Day.  Great weather, great decorations, great company!

Before we left, I was able to put a quick page together for the color palette at Color Me Scrappy:

I used some bits and pieces from Authentique's Genuine Collection.
I also dusted off my Fastenator to attach a few strips of denim ribbon.

Here is the original color palette:

Have a great
Saturday!!

Boy oh Boy

I had a bag of scraps leftover from a fun collection by Bo Bunny called On The Go.
I saw a sketch from the Boys Rule blog, and was so excited that I had enough bits and pieces to make it happen.

I fussy cut the gears from scraps of patterned papers and added buttons here and there to fill in some gaps.
It still needed a bit of something, so I used a brown marker to do some doodling around the edges to bring it in.

Here is the original sketch from Boys Rule:

Have a great evening!

Frosted Designs Blog Hop layout

So glad I found the time to play along with the Frosted Designs Fall Blog Hop.  Fall is my favorite season and I really wanted to see what the DT had created for the hop.  I was not disappointed!  So many fun ideas and beautiful projects!

Each persons blog offered an "ingredient" for us to create our own Fall layout.
From the 12 ingredients, we had to choose at least 6.  I ended up using 7.

1. embossing - I used dry embossing on the background and then lightly went over it with ink
2. buttons - I layered a few for the centers of the flowers
3. Alpha Stickers - inked on mahogany ink
4. Fall Leaves
5. Flowers
6. Lace
7. Pumpkins

I wish I could have managed a few more, but I kinda ran out of room on this page...lol.

Have a great Wednesday!!!

Loving the Outdoors

I love that my kids really love hanging out outdoors.  I manage to get some great shots of them enjoying the fresh air.

Here is a great picture of my daughter sitting near the top of a waterfall.  I love this picture and needed a great sketch to work with.

I wanted to play along with the "2 cluster" challenge by Bo Bunny.  This collection from Bo Bunny is called "Gabrielle".  I love these colors!!  I used a flower punch on some of the papers to make my own flowers, and added stitched flowers and brads to the centers.  I was lucky enough to still have a bit of pearl swirl bling to finish off each cluster.  The butterflies were fussy cut from some of the same papers.  I put them on pop dots to help them fly.  :)

I decided to use this week's Monday Mojo sketch from The Flying Unicorn:

Have a great Wednesday!!!

My Babies

I love when all 3 of my babies are together....smiling...not fighting and arguing.  It's such rare occasion nowadays.  They are all so strong minded and stubborn....lol.

Luckily, they know when it's time for family photos, they must behave and they must smile.  I always get the best pictures from them.   :)

This page was made using lots of leaves from the stash and a new chicken wire mask for the background:

On my journaling tag is says, "My babies are growing up so fast.  I'm glad it can all be captured in family photos."

I used a sketch from Once Upon a Sketch for this page.  They always have beautiful sketches.

Have a great Tuesday!!

Together

I dug into my Simple Stories stash so I could play along with Let's Get Sketchy again.

I love these papers and elements!

I added few buttons with twine, a piece of corrugated that I cut into a circle and some trim around the photo.

Here is the original sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

Have a great day!
