Scarecrow Fun!

Had to get at least one page done before we head out for Trick or Treating!
I made my own cornstalks with tons of distressing on strips of cardstock. I crumpled it up, inked it and then cut it up. I found these adorable little buttons at an Expo. The doily was inked and misted too. The letters were OLD letter stickers from the stash. :)
And so was the ribbon. :)
The sketch is #33 from Sketchabilities. Love it!! :)

Getting Sassy in a hurry

It's down to the final days for the October challenge at Sassy Lil' Sketches!
Here is my page for the October 28th sketch:

I loved the sketch from October 21st! And these cool leaf doilies are awesome! A little hard to work with, but I managed.

Off to carve pumpkins with the kids!

:)

1-2 pager 4 3 challenges...

Did you follow that?? lol

Challenge #1 - Stuck On U Sketches hosted a 2 page sketch challenge

Challenge #2 - Scrap Whispers wanted you to use the words "Dream" - "Wish" - or "Journey" on your project. I squeezed in all 3! :)

Challenge #3 - Scrapbook Steals is hosting an online crop all weekend. This was Challenge #4 (still with me??) which was to use 4 patterned papers - 4 brads - 4 stickers - 4 ribbons and 4 of anything you choose. I went with 4 photos.

So now that I totally confused myself...it's time to get some real housework done.

Have a great weekend!!!

Busy Scrapping Day!

I LOVE taking a day off in the middle of the week! I get more done than I do on the weekends! Although, lately my weekends have consisted of doing running around with the kids....many, many photo ops! My next task is to get them ordered so I can start scrapping them.

This first page is from this week's sketch from Let's Scrap. Here is the right side:

And here is the left side:
The big chipboard piece was supposed to hold a picture CD or something like that, but I didn't have pictures to go with the sketch and the CD. So I raided the Halloween stash and made it work another way. :)
I also used these pages for the Frosted Designs. The challenge was to use die cuts. I used plenty of Halloween die cuts! :)
Sketches4all: Christy's Monthly Be-Inspired challenge was a Reese's ad. MM.mmm...LOVE Reese's! Almost tempted to race over to the Hershey Store downtown just to get pics...lol.
Sketches4all: Michelle H.'s challenge - tag sketch using misting or painting, and a stamp. My stamp isn't showing up too well here...
Sketches4all: Scrap Girl of the Month - final sketch challenge :)
That's all I have....so far...it's still early....lol

Black and White Whispers...

This week's challenge from Scrap Whispers - use black and white. Whether it be the photo, the embellishments, or the papers, it didn't matter.
The sketch is #147 from Sketch Inspiration.
I chose to work with this 8x10 photo of my oldest daughter. I inked up a half dozen doilies, cut them in half and used them to make the circle around the photo. The flowers and pearls are from KatiesKreations4u. She puts together amazing kits!

Movie Title Challenge

A challenge from Sketches4all....create a project using a Movie Title. It's funny how the only movie titles that come to mind are from Disney!
I decided to go in a completely different direction and take care of some Summer adventure photos.
The sketch is from Sketches in Thyme. I used lots of bits and pieces from the scrap box...again.
And I just love these cool leaves from Prima!
:)

Stuck on October 15th sketch

Stuck?! Sketches created this challenge for the 15th of October. A fun little layout using up last year's Fall scrap stash. I also added some fun fibers too! :)

Lemont Quarry 2009

I love finding new and fun things to do with the kids all the time. I read an article describing the new visitor friendly walkway around this old quarry in Lemont, Illinois. So, of course, I packed up the kids and a fun lunch and off we went. It was a nice long walk with some great scenery. Lots of great landscape photo ops. And everyone was happy to oblige!

Another fun new discovery was a brand new sketch from Artful Delight. This is for sketch #1.
I love checking out their new kits too! With hubby working lots of overtime, I have play money...lol.
Looking forward to lots more sketch inspiration!

Stuck on U Sketches

Everytime I see a new sketch on Stuck on U Sketches, I always think pretty flowers and bling. The Design Team work is always so amazing!
I really need to finish up Jason's birthday album, so I decided to avoid the flowers and bling and focus on Mickey. I've been trying to convince DH that we REALLY need to go back to Disney soon...He's not listening to me! So I have to get my Disney fix through my pictures.
As you can see, Jason had a Mickey Mouse birthday party theme...gee, wonder whose idea that was....hmmmm......
LOVE these giant sticker circles from Creative Imaginations!
I outlined almost everything in black marker to give it a little more definition.
:)

It's only Wednesday??

It was a loooong boring day at work. Boredom really takes a toll on me. I was determined to get something done tonight!
I did a quick page for Crafts by Rowena at Creative Geneaology.
I raided the scrap box for the bits and pieces used. :)
Everytime I say I'm ready to donate the whole box, I find a use for a whole bunch of goodies!

October Scraplifts...

Both of these pages were done for scraplift challenges at Sketches4all. :)

The first page was made with goodies from October Afternoon.

The second was mostly Dollar Spot goodies from Michael's.

Down on the Farm

A great multi--photo sketch from Sketchy Thursdays! I just took another zillion pictures at the Children's Farm for the Fall Fest. This farm is about 5 minutes from my house, so we go all the time. The kids love seeing the new baby animals.
This was also for a challenge at Sketches4all. Stacy's challenge was to use paper weaving on your project. I used some denim pattern paper and this really cool bandana ribbon. I cut the ribbon and paper into strips and it took me another 20 minutes to figure out what to do with it. lol. I had a major brain cramp and actually had to look on youtube for directions on how to do it...lol. And I have done it before!
The denim paper and straw paper all came from the box of scraps. Why is that this box never seems to empty???
Happy Sunday!!!

Fall Frenzy

I have been working on quite a few projects lately, just ran out of time to post on my blog. So here is my latest update. :)

This first page was a challenge from Sketches4all. We were asked to use fabric on our page. I cut up a length of fabric ribbon to make the banner. The sketch is from Let's Scrap. :)

Challenge: Use green, orange and white and distress the page. I used distressing inks on the papers and a distressing tool on a few of the other papers. This sketch is #145 from Sketch Inspiration. :)
Challenge: Use 4 different pieces of 6x6 papers. (the 4th is behind the center piece). The sketch is also from Let's Scrap.
Challenge: Sweetest Day Challenge from Sketches4all. Use song lyrics on your page. I looked at these pictures and this song jumped in my head and has been there ever since...lol. The sketch is Mid Week Mojo from Scrapbook Steals. :)

Challenge: The sketch is a challenge from the Design Team at Sketches4all. The color challenge was from Practical Scrappers. Create a project with orange and black that is NOT Halloween. :)
I have a few others that I will post later. Today is my daughter's birthday party and I really need to get to work. I started decorating and cooking yesterday, so I narrowed my To Do list down to only a billion things to do.
Have a great weekend!!!!

Sweet Thing

Still having fun with the Sweetest Day Party at Sketches4all! And my kids are in on it. We had to create a project with red/white/brown and include a wrapper or an ad from one of our favorite treats. I gave my kids a bag of Hershey kisses and let down have a party. I added the wrappers along the edge of the patterned papers. The sketch is from this week's challenge from Sketches in Thyme. Now I have kids running around in circles burning up a huge sugar rush...lol...it could be a looooong night!

Sweet Treats

I"m having fun playing with the Sweetest Day Party at Sketches4all this week. All of the challenges have to do with something "sweet". Maybe it's food, maybe it's a quote, maybe it's a color combo. It's funny how I manage to find the goofiest pictures for each challenge....lol.
For this one we had to work with pictures that featured a typical sweet treat. I had these fun donut pictures, but decided to go with cupcake accents. This was made from a bag of scraps from a Pinecone Press kit I had laying around for a while. Cleaning out the stash!
I used a sketch from Stuck?! on Sketches from October. Can't wait to see the new sketch tomorrow!

All girl

I did this page for the Sweetest Day challenge going on at Sketches4all. We had to use pink/brown/cream or white on our project. I figured a pink girlie page was going to be in the works...and then I remembered these pics from Mud Day at the park. So that's where the brown comes in...lol.
I used the sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches too.

Butterflies...the beginning...

I took zillions of pictures at the butterfly fest this year. These are still left over from the butterfly house at the zoo. The fest pictures are on the way. This page was for a challenge at Sketches4all. We had to use butterflies and chipboard. I used some chipboard flower pieces and then colored them with Tombow markers. I also added some lace trim and a bunch of buttons. :)
The sketch was this week's challenge at Sketches in Thyme. I had to change it up a bit. So glad to finally work on these great pictures! :)

It's been a slow week....

My computer died this week. I've been having to share with my hubby and it sucks! He is a Graphic Artist, so he is ALWAYS on his computer. Luckily, my daughter went out last night, so I was able to use hers for a bit.
I was lucky enough to grab this sketch from Sketchy Thursdays so I had something to work on, before I went insane.
I saw these papers when Debbie (LOVELIFESPLEASURES) used it on one of her pages. I have searched high and low and finally found the set at TwoPeasinaBucket. And I bought multiples of the pieces, because I still have many strawberry pictures to scrap.
K, gotta get moving...off to the store to bring home the new baby! :)

Oh Happy Day!

I am in such a good mood today!  I received some awesome news the other day but I can't share just yet!
I ran across this site called Scrap Whispers and they were having a fun challenge this week.  You had to do a project that made you happy or something that made you smile. I had these great pics of my family on Thanksgiving Day, having fun while making dinner.  Of course, you can see by the utensils in their hands that they were already tired of my camera....lol.
Also used a sketch from Stuck on U Sketches.  Which makes me even happier!  Two challenges with one layout!  WOOOHOO!!!
Thanks for looking!  Have a great week!
So I'm submitted my page to their site! Wish me luck!  I need to stay happy!  :):):):)

Thyme for Fringe Flowers

Brenda is hosting a challenge at sketches4all this month.  She has a great tutorial on her blog on how to make these flowers.

http://roseblossomlegacies.blogspot.com/2010/09/cardstock-tutorial-for-better-living.html

I decided to give it a shot.  It was actually easier than I thought!  The hardest part was trying to figure out what colors to use.  Once I had that down, I made both flowers in under 20 minutes....that included breaking up fights between my little ones.
The sketch is from Sketches in Thyme.  I had to flip the picture to make it work.  The border sticker strips are from Wild Asparagus.  More ancient stuff from the stash gone!  Woohoo!!
